The Artist

Tahnya Spirit was born in Winston-Salem, NC. She has also lived in Massachusetts, and Maryland. Although a mathematics major, art has always been an important part of her life. She has studied and taken classes in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and jewelry making. Furthermore, she has studied with renowned artist James Huff.

 

She owned and operated Heritage Gallery in Winston-Salem, NC, and currently is co-owner of The NC Artist Market located at 239 West 5^th Street, Winston-Salem, NC.

 

She enjoys working with her hands, whether it is drawing, painting, designing and fabricating exquisite jewelry pieces, sculpting, beading objects or recycling goods and creating new Art Pieces.

 

 

THE ARTIST STATEMENT

 

It is my belief that; WE (Earth, Outer and Inner Earth, Human, Animal, Spirit and Plant Life) are all connected by One Great, Loving, Creative, Divine and Omnipotent Spirit.

 

In the creation of my art pieces, I sometimes choose to incorporate and impose drawings of human and/or animal forms into inanimate objects to create an implied relationship.

 

Many of my creative pieces are inspired thru meditation, songs and ancient verses.

 

We are all spiritual beings on this earth experiencing an earthly journey.

 

May Peace, Love, Wisdom, Perfect Health, Beauty, Joy, Knowledge, Compassion, Power, Strength, Courage and Blessings be with us all thru this journey. Let THE CREATOR’s perfect balance and will be our guide in all our endeavors.
